A fitting story for Veteran Day. I will have to script and paraphrase this story a bit as I was caught off guard when it happened. I was in Chik-fil-A sometime ago and a very tall Black man in a John 3:16 hat was standing next to me. Shy as I am, I started a conversation. Me: How are you doing, Brother? Him: Fine, and you? Me: Better than I deserve, always! Him: Aren't we all? Me: True, but few realize it. Him: Yes, indeed. Then he walked away. A few minutes later he came back and extended his hand. I shook it and he did not let go. Him: I do not push who I am, but I am not ashamed of who I am. When I see someone that has the Lord in him, I have to tell him. Me: An 'umble, Thank you, Sir. I obviously saw him in you as well. He smiled and went on his way. ---------------- He did not feel offended by my cowboy hat, which some have said recently is racist. He did not know my political affiliation though he might have guessed. He said all he saw was the Lord. I did wonder if he would have said the same if I had a Trump hat on. I didn't own one, but it would have been interesting to see if the Lord would be been seen more than the hat. We were twice brothers. Brothers in arms and brothers in Christ.
This was very 'umbling and encouraging. Two folks from diverse backgrounds sharing the Lord's blessing to each other the day after an election that has since caused violence and threats shows how much we all need the Lord. I am glad God is color blind and I got to interact with a brother from another mother, but the same Father! Glory!!!!
